ARGH YESSS BEAT HIM UP
I really hope the lil bro suffers and the dad and whole family too

The way I was full on ready to hate on the main character of the second season forever after the manipulating bullshit he pulled and nearly dropped it, but now I kinda love him and his damaged soul <3
he does deserve love, I hope he'll be happy forever (and fuck his family over)

he doesn’t show remorse at all though.. in fact when presented with the fact that Taeseo could find out about his mischievous and manipulative tactics and actions he instead internalizes it as Taeseo seeking revenge..

LOL in fact after that he tries to lead Taeseo on and love bomb him even

I know he’s a damaged soul and trauma does impact actions individuals take and sometimes mistakenly take but to show no caution or even guilt shows me that to other people besides Taeseo he’ll still be shitty and destructive..

Heck even in this season he’s already screwed couple people..

Characters like this that show no gradual change or improvement just irk me

I agree, as of now there was no redemption arc or any apology at all
I interpreted his actions as a form of self sabotaging. He struggles with building close relationships and seems afraid of real feelings. (We saw a slight uncertainty in his backflash when he was leading MC from first season on.)That's why he later immediately jumped to the "he only does this because of revenge" thought. Because of his experience of abandonment with his family he seems to distrust everyone in general and rather tries to be above everyone else, dragging others down and reaffirming his power, so he would not get hurt again.
But that is not to say he is not a manipulative asshole. He himself knows that, hence why he would struggle even more with a real relationship (as his actions and personality could be exposed in a second). I also detest how he destroyed others lives (esp. poor side character at the beginning he stole his research from :') ). If he has no redemption arc or even apology I wouldn't like it either and probably also be disappointed.
But all in all I like his character design. Maybe ive over interpreted it tho, these are just my assumptions

    No this 100%

I agree as well.. it’s also gonna show up in their relationship.. he’ll always interpret any action by Taeseo as maybe self serving or scheming..

Unless he fesses up the entire truth.. apologizes to the main couple and tries to fix his public relations at school and the like.. it’ll just be a one dimensional character who uses power trips and ego checks on underserving people..

Also with all the power and drama he wields.. why doesn’t he check his family first and foremost?? Especially his negligent mother and abusive father l..

I really enjoyed this story and the angst and misunderstandings were so realistic and the characterization felt so fleshed out.. especially Baekryung and Seonwoo.. I wish Taeseo had more going for him besides the golden retriever x unassuming kind of guy but I guess the author maybe intended him to act as a magnet to Seonwoo toxicity and control nature
