That is such immature and bitchy thing to do. A normal person would not hit people like that intentionally is such a situation. I get it if this person bullied you through blood and tears and you hit them back like that, but this?! Cirrus…

Skylar is not acting '' as he wants '' i am not defending him, i am defending Paskim because this is truly good depiction of a hyperactivation = triggered state of a person with ptsd. I really don't think Skylar is choosing to go to that exteme out of his rationnal mind. He feels threatened he is scared BECAUSE of what happened in the past (school environment + homophobia + bullying) :-( so he is in a hightened state (adrenaline surge + survival mode ) his nervous sytem and his reptilian brain are taking control he's in autopilot mode (that's the theory of Peter Levine for trauma and stress activation i believe dr Levine isn't the first psychiatrist who studied those hightened autopilot states due to stress + past trauma. It's a very realistic depiction. Personnally i have experienced twice in my life a state of hyperactivation and went full force and couldn't control at all. I was lucky nothing really bad happened because i couldn't control myself i was out of my mind. _ i think Cirrus won't be retraumatised by this experience, because Cirrus is used to ultraviolence he is not afraid of being beaten up , hence his reaction. That's simply not what Cirrus is afraid of. He is afraid of being abandonned. Not beaten. He doesn't care (it seems?) about being beaten , seeing that Cirrus continued talking as if everything was normal it's '' almost comical '' that he insists on continuing to talk to Skylar while Skylar is beating him up to silence him (!!)
Cirrus didn't even tried to stop Skylar nor did he tried to protect himself, as if he just does not care at all being beaten up by Skylar .
This scene is one of the scene that makes Lost in the Cloud very realistic in terms of traumatized x traumatized story.

Didn’t read the whole thing because we are thinking the same. I am sorry if my comment came out as insensitive. I understand they both have been through worse than hell and back. But the way everything is shown just makes me anxious and mad and I loose my composure a bit. I love the story though! Can’t wait for more!

I mean the writing is well thought out. It’s incredible, of course it is terrible what happened to them and seeing myself in that scenario, I know I would’ve never survived.

In a way I agree, but then again I remember that these are teenagers.
