Author could do the funniest thing on the earth by making them best friends instead of taking the usual romance route. I'd love to see her past age 18 and growing up healthy maybe her past lives were miserable bc she encountered greedy family who sacrificed her for their security but this time she got a protective family who doesn't even leave her alone when she's sick, sacrificing her would be a nightmare for them _metaphorically_.
