though he'd still be beautiful and gorgeous with short hair and he probably wants a fresh start.... hair represents a lot of important things for people and i think someone trying to recover from depression would want to feel neater ? if that makes sense like long hair isnt messy but long hair does block ur vision and short hair feels lighter on ur head... speaking from experience sorry for yapping!
