It’s more so that the FL is smart enough to not just choose “comfortability.” At most she’d feel like he’s the ideal guy for a bf, but still think of him as a coworker. That would just be using him. She made the right choice and gave him the opportunity to find someone who actually would like him back. If she accepted him with such non-existent feelings, she would become a red flag herself.
