It’s not just cirrus though. If you reread the new season chapters you’ll see cirrus has been communicating his insecurities to the best of his abilities. He even told Skyler he’s feels insecure and he wants him to assure him. Skyler doesn’t want to show affection though due to his trauma and completely ignores cirrus so much. So Obviously when his insecure self saw his bf blushing with his former crush it got on his nerves. Not saying he’s faultless but to say cirrus hasn’t been trying is ingenuous.
Trust me I get it, but they still shouldn't be dating. Dating an insecure person is literally the worst. Cirrus needs to work on himself before he focuses on Skylar.
He’s BEEN toxic AND possessive. Even the way they met was negative. Cirrus doesn’t need a relationship right now. He needs to work on himself first. The author doesn’t romanticize his incompetence because the main character is actually super self-aware, smart asf, and knows how to combat pressure.
