Lol its actually so funny how many people genuinely thinks they're in a relationship . i mean it was never announced that they are dating nor that they're canon but its very fruity very very FRUITY especially in the novel no surprise people mistaken it for bl. They also have a child together and some people are saying that hyunjae confessed to yoojin in the novel(?)

Don’t take my word on this, but from some other things I’ve heard to confirm is true, there were actually some implications in the novel that had actually stated that MC and Sung Hyunjae a “relationship” of doing things together in the past before. It gave off A LOT of friends with benefits vibes from what readers have said.

Hi, as a novel reader here, as much as I love them—SHJ and HYJ aren't actually in a relationship. Their relationship and interactions that became the foundation of it could easily be depicted as romantic, since there is an ambiguous tone to it. Also, they do hold a great amount of affection and care towards each other that is MORE than a simple bromance or even queerbait. However, at the end of the day, even though there is an explicit "I love you" (which has too much context behind it to be reduced as a romantic confession)—they are not canon.

Basically they really really care for each other and you can easily think of them in love but they arent in a confirmed dating-relationship?
