I expected that it is about Monster food but I thought that it would be more interesting and not take up the whole plot, its definitely too much.
I suppose it's a matter of taste
Because for me, them slowly learning about how the magic works and clicks, the magic system, how the ancient magic is more complicated but does so much more than modern (fast) magic, it's so niiice. And then the discovery of new monsters, the new possible industries that could develop from her research it's all so nice.
Honestly it's just right up my alley. I love romance, but too much or just a focus on it leaves me bored after a while. Here, I get to have a cute couple slowly get closer as well as more interesting (to me) plot points going on all the while. There's even a little bit of politics sometimes.
Glad you like it! Maybe I just wasnt in the mood for that kind of plot. I easily get bored when there is too much text and explaination xD

Its kinda boring tbh I dont care about all the food/monster explaination…the only thing I like is how fast they got engaged
