Okay.

So... Law wants Jesse to acknowledge that he is important to him (Jesse) but at the same time he wants to be the one controlling Jesse and not the other way around. I still don't understand why Jesse is so hesitant about showing Law how he perceived him... Is it "love" anymore? It feels like a battle for control on the other one

I dont think there is love between them. It is just a superiority competition

It never felt like love to me.... Law just doesn't like being the one on the receiving end of things. He likes to be the one holding the strings, so to speak. I do believe that's his 'reward'.

I think it would be love if the two of them weren't so messed up. But I'm not sure that Jesse is even capable of love for anyone other than his parents. As for Law, he's never been loved by his parents or anyone so wouldn't really know how to show it for someone correctly (especially someone as difficult to manage as Jesse). Their relationship has always had an unequal power dynamic (as has all of their relationships with other people). I think it makes sense that Law would want to be the one in control rather than the one always worrying about being abandoned. I don't think either of them truly knows how to be in a healthy relationship, but maybe if I'm lucky they'll figure it out in time for a happy ending.

"But I'm not sure that Jesse is even capable of love for anyone other than his parents."
-- I don't think that's true because we see how lenient Jesse became of Law and if emotions weren't the reason for that than there's no way he'd had been lenient in the first place. Remember when he called Law at midnight knowing full-well Law was awake, and Law didn't call him back nor show up until 3 AM? Jesse didn't get mad at him or rebuke him, instead he listened and heard him out (and wanted to get intimate). And then, in this most recent chapter, Jesse's inner monologue shows him regretting tricking Law with that pre-recorded video. He showed remorse for doing that to Law, which is a sign of compassion/love. That's just current time-frame displays of emotion as well. We know that later on, in Moritat, he also develops feelings for Law to the point that he wanted to commit double-suicide with him. tl;dr - Jesse definitely ends up falling in love with Law, but the way he expresses his affection is not in a clear-cut way we're used to seeing.

"I don't think either of them truly knows how to be in a healthy relationship"
-- I agree with this; honestly I think the closest they were to "healthy" was when they were both in their last days of Moritat (and probably some in-between-conflict time period we don't get to see because it's not plot relevant).

People who've seen the raws for the next few chapters are not giving me any good vibes for Law's future.

I'm with you though; I totally hope that in the end these two end up as allies. I just have this feeling that won't happen, and that someone's going to die after all of this.
