The princess is still 1 years old. She got bigger because of the daily quests and growth potions, as it showed in a chapter, Growth +1 whenever she completes her daily quests. So I think she'll be growing faster than most kids her age and that probably includes her powers.
And they were being respectful to the Grand Duchy because they believed the prince was incompetent and the young boy from the grand duchy was next in line for the throne but now the Princess and her brother show their power so the power dynamics has shifted
