I remember she confronted him about it but then accepted it. But yes. She did use it to kill herself the first time.

They all so wrong. Carcel gave it to Oscar to give to Ines. Oscar pretended it was his and gave it to Ines. Ines don't know Carcel the one who actually owned the gun. She thought it was a gun from Oscar so she was blushing while holding the gun and being excited to show it off to Carcel. Carcel knew he secretly gave it to Ines so he was blushing secretly and she didn't notice. Ines used the gun to kill herself bc she thought Oscar would've treasured the gun. She wanted to use the gun that he gave her to kill herself to smite him but she didn't even know it wasn't Oscar's.

They might be cousins because the great 5 families (was it 5?) are all sort of interrelated because they marry within their status. However the crown prince and Carcel do not share a surname. Crown prince would carry the last name of the imperial family and probably the same name as the empire. Where escalante family is supposed to be soldiers. Don’t remember if the trend started with grandpa escalante or before him but yea. Bottom line they don’t share surnames.
Oscar and Carcel are cousins. THey share the same grandfather but their grandfather gave all his guns to Carcel, not Oscar.
