Yeah I feel you. I think they really tried to cram such a complex situation into a really short story. I agree, we were bombarded with near constant inner monologues but if the story were just a bit longer (not too much), it would have felt a bit more digestible. I skipped a lot of the inner dialogue and missed important details, so I kept having to reread the scene to better understand but it also pulled me out of the story too much. It was all too much and not enough at the same time :/ the art work is absolutely stunning though!
i like this as a story, but at the same time it feels like we're bombarded all the time with overexplanations of how they each feel instead of it being shown to us through their actions, as if the audience wont get it unless you spell everything out. It completely loses all the magic of storytelling. Genuinely think if the mangaka cut half the internal monologues this would already be better. Feels like it got way too dramatic for what it is also >__> maybe it's also cause of the internal monologues idk.
