Did y'all know... That if a Korean guy who raped someone proves that they were drunk during it... Can reduce the sentence? (⊙…⊙)
I am flabbergasted??? Why would the court defend a rapist??? Why would they care if they were drunk or nott???

    To add, a drunk person won't do anything to (and in this context, rape) another person without having the intention all the way before getting themselves drunk. So, if they drink with the intention to have sex with someone, be it consensual or not, they will do it once they got drunk. Hence why most people who drink to vent ends up pouring their hearts out the moment they got drunk. I think that is also why we call drunk people "under the influence". Because they already have the intention, the alcohol/drugs just “encourages” them to make it happen.

    I heard this from my parents though. They both never drank (me too). Not sure if there's actually any scientific backup on this.... ;;

    this is indeed true. being drunk does not mean that your whole personality would change and make you evil or something, that's nonsense lol. alcohol releases one's inhibitions. just as you said, if you already had the intention to do something, alcohol would just release what inhibits that intent.

    for instance, when I get drunk, I don't get all crazy or anything. Instead, I apparently keep lecturing the people around me all about Science and random fun facts ahhahaha.

    So whatever the case may be, using the excuse of being "drunk" for your crimes is never valid.

    Right! I don't understand how whenever (and especially in kpop industry) someone was accused of sexual harassment or rape, and that person happened to do it in a club or places known for drinking, people would brush it off as "oh he/she was drunk, of course he/she would do that" LIKE ??? WHAT MADE YOU SAY THAT. Do these people really think that being drunk means you're horny??

    (Also, sorry for the late reply I forgot I commented on this post and the internet connection in my campus is just so bad...)
