Well if you have seen lots of Korean dramas, movies etc, and it has the typical poor MC story, they do it like this. They would make them MC suffer so much (and I mean so much) then end it with a few happy scenes towards the ending.
i have but this is way too far imo... it still deserves criticism either way (both kdramas that follow this and this webtoon). eui’s rape and overall major life events have been excruciatingly tragic… for example how long the SA lasted and how much detail went into those scenes
it’s one thing to create suffering for plot and development vs straight up trauma inducing the mc for shock value
im TIRED of eui always getting tossed around, beaten, raped, and taken against his will. this is getting annoying fr, his happiness is not even on his own terms and i support him and the brother running away because nothing good comes out of the connection he has with debt collectors and his father. he needs to sever familial ties and be free from his stockholm syndrome. how many more times does he need to get taken advantage of or brutally hurt?? it’s like the author is trying to give him as much trauma as possible and the only thing keeping him alive is plot armor
