Honestly I don't like neither of them BUT for the criminal part, I mean yeah if course he will punish her just because we the readers have seen her pov doesn't mean everyone in the story has it doesn't matter if she was just trying to save a cat for them she was helping a criminal it's like if you see a drunk person drowning or getting beat up and you save them but it turns out that person was Hitler or a serial killer who killed hundreds of people yeah to you you are just trying to be a kind person but to others you are supporting that person and their goals. If that makes sense
