As someone who has read all 117 currently released chapters, I can assure you, there is no romance in this. The part you are talking about was a short "phase"; the mc starts off as quite immature, but he grows as the story progresses and thus his motivations change and evolve. Imo that's more realistic than a mc who's put together from the start.
I understand and like the fact that “the mc starts off as quite immature, but he grows as the story progresses and thus his motivations change and evolve”. I just felt disappointed by how he got infatuated in just a second and how he shifted his goal based on one or two encounters, making me think and worry there would be a lot of romance and simping when it was just interesting without all that.
I saw some poeple comment that there IS some romance but they explained that it was slow. Is that correct? Because I simply and quite honestly can’t bring myself to continue reading this if there is a slight possibility that this infatuation and trope continues.
That’s exactly what I mean! The romance was just brought out of the blue and after 2 encounters he is already infatuated and changing his life goal I mean he still wants to survive and escape but why involve the romance and not make it simply a platonic friendship? Instead he blushes all the time because of her appearance?
same sentiments here. also, its traumatic to read that kind of trope in the early chapters of the story regardless if eventually the mc disregards the thought of romance. i mean the emotional damage has been done. they can just be testing the waters here but its just not within the original plot of the story. you know as a reader youre feeling excited and all plus we’re putting our shoes in the MCs journey as if we’re with him aiming for the same goal of surviving and not to die in vain again, then suddenly the shift of reason to romance coz that girl was prety and sexy? whaaaaat?
i experienced this type of trope multiple times and after nano machine, which really emotionally stressed me out, i cant continue reading. shifting the plot from character development to romance will always be there coz the author introduced it once, its still possible for him to do it again and again.
exactly. another thing is theres so much to fill out for the plot to come as a whole. at first hes seeing life values in any character he encounters but in the later chapters it was as if that didnt exist anymore. like those are only applicable to specific individuals which was confusing. then suddenly romance development without establishing the plot? where still at the point of mcs realization not to get killed again and strive to be stonger and survive then sudenly he wants to live for the woman he just met? what the? also the body baiting to introduce romance was clear as day with 46degrees humidity. lmao
I honestly don't remember if he still likes her that way; he might, but running away with her is def not his main goal anymore and hasn't been for a while. Without spoilering too much; (don't continue if you don't want any spoilers)

they're on the same team (if I'm remembering correctly and it's the same girl), but imo he treats her the same as his other comrades. The one closer interaction when he was learning more about the background of all of his teammates (he had a closer interaction with all of his team mates, so it didn'tfeel unnatural), but I don't remember how that turned out, because it hasn't been addressed again in the past 50ish chapters. So I can't guarantee that there is absolutely no romance, but it is so slow that you forget about it, and you can definitely just skip the chapter and continue reading the story, if you don't like it at all. The focus is the action and his progress, and he's much more mature now, so I highly doubt that there will be any kind of sudden infatuation like in the early chapters.
Just went back and checked. The scene I'm remembering occurs in chapters 45-48. There hasn't been anything since that I can think of.

The most romancy thing she thinks is "does he also want to leave this place like my heart does?". He reacts confused and doesn't know what she's referring to. Later he thinks "I don't care what our relationship is, I just want to see her again". And in chapter 48 she tells him, she missed him. That's it. Could pass as friendship too imo.
i liked the story but i was really disapointed in him changing his goal from surviving to leaving the cult with that girl. sorry to say this but i really dont like romance in action manhuas. its really unecessary if the plot of the story is good and the characted development is moving nicely. ill just stop reading this one. im not in the mood to see blushing mc. lols
