this is probably a dumb question but why don’t they take off the mask of the killer to see his face? probably it’s irrelevant for the plot, but i’m curious and i want to know who he is, maybe this way they can find more clues

I don't think they've taken it off,,, they most likely think the killer is an npc. Like the author wants to subvert the thriller tropes i think it would be kinda cheap if they had taken the head off and the author hadn't shown us,,,

wasn't there a scene where it seemed like one of the villagers was the killer, the one where a dude locked up the gate to the tunnel? i got the vibe that potential npcs outside of the group could also just be killers
