
No. The ml mentioned it in his strategy that they will kill celendion's army , and when that happens the vamp will divide his lives to his subordinates ( as they have the mindset of "all for one, one for all") to awaken/resurrect them again.
Bt that's celendion is decreasing lifespan by himself before the battle to make it easy for the ml to kill him as he really wants to die

I don't remember exactly how this worked, but after reading the novel, I can say he is definetely not reducing his life. He is saying he wants to die, but he is not going to make it easy on purpose. The lives he collected are divided to his army so he is not taking them. I think he's not able to kill himself also beacause of his crazy regen ability. Maybe some fellow novel reader can explain it better.
Did celendion hanged himself to reduce his life as he as 1000 of them?
