yeah basically. the ending is the beginning where fl tries to save ml from death, but there's a time loop bc of some tree branch or some shit named dragon. at the end ml loves fl and wants to marry her, he tries to find her in the rain (same as first life where fl tries to find ml) but he finds her dead.
it's assumed that ml also died alongside fl so it's a bittersweet ending (at least they died together LMAOO)

Just to relieve your pain and give you hope, it’s just the ending of the first volume of the LN. Vol 2 starts with another timeloop with Vincent remembering everything.
