He's not gay, he has relationships with women, and sex with men
Yeah he was written really clearly as straight unlike another of other "straight" characters. He's falling in love despite not finding men attractive. It's not even "I only find you attractive" he was just shown love that he wasn't used to and he ended up feeling the same. He has a complex sexuality and paring it down to he's in denial doesn't give him justice.
