Eh, that might’ve been how it started, but not everyone reads omegaverse for smut. Some people just want to see Mpreg and babies, which is why shounen ai omegaverse exist.
^^^ Not everyone needs to see it 24/7 like the main point is a male|male couple having the ability to reproduce by themselves period. Sure omegaverse takes on a form of animalistic breeding but not every omegaverse or mpreg story is due to a breeding kink . Lots of stories use it as a simple answer to the how did he get pregnant plothole so that it can be a family story etc. Other than that, all Yaoi stories originated from dirty doujinshis so that's just how the whole genre started, with explicit scenes included, but not all authors care to draw all the dirty stuff . I like both kinds of stories.
