i'm actually pretty damn understanding of sohan here because a parent is still a parent, it's difficult as fuck to oppose them even if they've abused you your whole life or something like that, i got pissed when sihwa made him bleed so much. ouch.

Yup… when a series is well written you can actually empathize when a character does something that seems irrational and self-sabotaging

Sihwa didn’t make him bleed purposely.

i know, i feel bad for sihwa too for having someone he loves choose someone who hurts them over him... but it still made me sad. it's like when you argue with your lover and they physically hurt you out of anger... it's scary

I'm asian too but I never understood filial piety esp when it's toxic and not out of love which makes all this frustrating even more

Logically, I feel like it makes sense to walk away from toxic parents.
However, if they’re not abusive or toxic 24/7 and you’ve been desensitized to their treatment despite realizing what is being done to you, you think they’re not so bad, or that you have some hope inside that they’ll change.
And this could lead you to think that they’re not so terrible to be abandoned.
Not sure if that applies to our boy Sohan here. I can’t remember if they explain why he feels like he’s responsible for his father.
