i mean.. sex workers just have physical relationships with their clients. Hosts sweet talk them and manipulate their clients so they fall for them and pay them more
When it comes to emotional relationships a host is considered worse than a prostitute, especially w Haru who only tops for his clients. Since, again, a host is known for honeytrap their clients AND another host bluntly says that's his M.O., do you rlly think is so crazy for Haru to assumed that??
I don’t think it’s crazy to assume that, and I think everyone has valid points, I just think people are forgetting that this whole relationship from the start has been really rushed (even for a sex worker and a host) so there hasn’t been enough time for either party to build trust in character and word. It’s like they instinctively know they love each other and the energy is magnetic but they’re afraid because they don’t know of what they’re capable of and are now panicking because they’re in too deep emotionally. So of course Haru’s biggest fear rn probably is to confront Shinya and have him say that Ginji was lying but then finding out that he wasn’t. I think it’s valid to say that someone like haru who’s closed off from bottoming at work because he wants to be topped genuinely and with someone he loves is very deeply afraid that the person he’s undeniably fixated on and already gave his virginity to is gonna break his heart into pieces. I think Haru avoiding Shinya is his way of avoiding finding out the truth because he’s pessimistic on the outcome. And I think him taking bottom requests is him trying to distract himself from the person he really wants to be his top/boyfriend. Now on Shinya’s side: I believe its partially the same. Now I want to highlight to the authors characterization of him: there’s a really subtle but evident straight man behavior that pokes his head everytime he takes the lead and is sort of clueless to what Haru is worried about . He knows he’s attracted to haru and his intentions are true therefore he pursues Haru diligently and loyally but the thing is Haru is unaware that this is Shinya showing his favor and loyalty to him because they’ve only just met and from his perspective he’s never seen any other side to Shinya so this is just who he is. Now it is true that Shinya payed for Haru’s time for sex so I don’t really view this as S/A although a sec worker can say no at some point Haru even agrees to use sec toys so to some degree he is VERY into everything that Shinya is throwing his way. I think the author does a great job at demonstrating his battle with his pride about being not only a bottom but a masochist. Anyways sorry for this long text im just really interested to see where the author takes this next. I like that even though they had hot passionate sex they’re still unsure of where the other stands.
??? Shinya is okay with Haru topping but not bottoming??? No matter what the position is, it's still sex. Shinya wasn't making sense. Haru thought about getting serious with his relationship with Haru and instead of asking why he wanted to quit his job, he was told that it's a rash decision. Of course Haru would be like??? and think "Shinya is fine with me having sex with others?" He prolly not gonna be jealous or serious with this relationship.
you people will dick ride a fictional guy so hard that you refuse to see any of his faults Haru wasn't promised a relationship after going on a date or having his first time with Shinya, and when he is told by people who seem to know Shinya for a lot longer than he did that he is being scammed and used how tf was he supposed to react?! did you guys just forget that they have had like 3 full meetings till then...
Also he ASKED if Shinya wanted him to quit, which led to that miscommunication on both parts clearly. But Haru was again unrightfully punished for making decisions about his own body + got ghosted afterwards. Haru made assumptions about Shinya, but how tf was he supposed to know for sure that he wasn't being scammed? he aint a mind reader ffs. Shinya got offended after being accused but refused to elaborate or explain his pov until after Haru sought him out HIMSELF.. how is that logical at all
i read it! you make some great points, it does make their relationship seem intentional, like the author wanted them to get over the insecurities with their own effort. I think this could have worked out better if it was longer, having a single person pov doesn't really work well with stories like this, crammed in 6 chapters, it makes it seem forced and unnatural even with that pull they clearly have! The chemistry seems bland because instead of knowing what the characters are into we are thrust into sex scenes that seem horribly one sided, sometimes i feel its better to add an emotional scene instead of sex, or make an emotional sex, especially when both of these characters are somewhat sex workers. it just makes you hate the perpetrator more rather than empathise with them
Y’all really bother me. Y’all are all complaining about the fact that he is a host, he’s this, he’s that yada yada!
But you won’t even realize the fact that Haru is a sex worker… Two jobs who hold about an equal share of being frowned upon but which one do you think would get more frowned upon? (Hint!!!: you use your body for it sexually!)
Exactly, so why are you guys not upset at Haru for not communicating this concerns to Shinya when Shinya proved all his emotions to Haru in the best way he could EVEN INTRODUCED HIM TO THE FAMILY?!
Face it, Haru literally only sees Shinya as his job and not for him. What if it was the other way around? Shinya only seeing Haru as a slut, a whore, all because he’s a sex worker. You guys would’ve swooped in and called the seme all types of names but you all are so quick to get on the wagon of “Oh how dare he even treat him like that!!” After the way Haru treats Shinya?! Ugh.
