The way I understood, it was love at first sight for both of them just Yunshin figured it out first.
I don't really think there's anything for Sehun to redeem though. Yunshin is the one chasing after Sehun, and he's also the one to instigate everything in the novel. Sehun is just a jerk with a heart of gold (for only Yunshin).
I can understand why his personality may be dislikable but personally for me, Sehun ended up my favourite character in the novel. I did think he changed a lot from the beginning of the novel to the end of it.
ah, that explains why he's so cold yet also kinda touchy with mc. idk about heart of gold, but if someone humiliated me and strangled me with my tie i would kinda want to do the same to them (i cant believe mc liked him after all that; ml really lucked out). does it ever get touched upon later after those incidents? or does it get swept under the rug?
I think maybe I'm not explaining well. Sehun is like a wild tiger; and Yunshin is the trainer who is actively edging and closing in on him, knowing he might get hurt (I'd say Yunshin is a bit of a masochist). It's not that Sehun means to be rough with him, but rather that he doesn't really know how to handle Yunshin because being in love or being kind to another person is all new to him; and he's attracted to him but is extremely on edge because he doesn't know if Yunshin is just out to use him. There is a part in the novel where Sehun is extremely rough during sex, but that's only because Yunshin purposely egged him on despite knowing Sehun wasn't in a good mood, and Sehun had already warned him about it to back off. --- So, the thing is, yeah Sehun is sometimes a bit physically rough, but I think the fault lies partly (or mostly) with Yunshin who instigates it. So, like...basically I'm saying Yunshin doesn't mind because he's a bit of a maso.
Personally I really liked the novel enough to actually buy some of its chapters. I think the manhwa suffers from the problem that not every details from the novel is translated well in the adaptation. There are many character thoughts and little details that gets lost or just not in the manhwa at all. Also regarding their dynamic, I think it's quite equal in terms of status. For now, it's just Yoonshin being very upfront with his feelings and Sehun not knowing what to do with it but I personally think it gets better.
while i understand that he's nuanced, the ml's not hot or charismatic enough to be this much of a jerk to mc. the best aspect of the story is the intricacy and details about the legal system, but it's not compelling enough to overshadow or diminish the asshole-ness of the ml. the mc is okay, but not endearing enough to make the unequal power dynamic any less infuriating. it's also quite annoying seeing mc developing concern and the beginning of feelings for ml when he's been no less of an asswipe to him so far. when i checked the reviews on the novel, it was well-praised, but the story falls short of the praise IMO. still, i have a sliver of hope. does it get better, and does the ml actually ACTUALLY redeem himself?
