I mean they do mention his instability has a lot to with his trauma resurfacing that he didn’t think would affect him as much so it’s understandable why he’s coming off naive
He's back in the place where he'd been constantly raped, berated and humiliated. Doesn't matter he's in a position of "power" this time, he's seriously traumatized. His behaviour makes sense honestly

Now that I think about it, you're honestly so right! It makes sense
I'm not really liking this season so far as much as I liked the first one. The characters, specially the uke feels very naive and dumbed down compared to how smart, sly and self aware he used to be in the first season. Their chemistry also feels off compared to the suspense and fieriness their relationship used to have. I dunno, I think I will like it better if I binge read instead of reading each upload
