It's how children learn how to read and pronounce: a i u e o, babibubebo, papipupepo, and so on

Not quite a tongue tie. Japanese doesn't have any consonants on their own except for one n... so all the p sounds/letter are ぱ(pa) ぴ(pi) ぷ (pu) ぺ (pe) ぽ(po). But yeah he can't pronounce the p sound yet

the abcs song in japanese goes like a,i,u,e,o,ka,ki,ku,ke,ko and so on so the translator is saying the dragon doesn't know papipupepo as part of the abcs hence cant pronounce the p sounds, since papipupepo is not actually part of the actual song

Just for anyone wondering... the last line he sings is referencing the "ten ten" and "maru" letters which one of those lines are the p sound letters. Ten ten (") or maru(°) get added to some of the base letters to create different sounds like pa pi pu pe po.

I hadn't heard that short so thank you. Discovered this song is actually from the opening of an anime and became the alphabet song.

Just to show ten ten and maru for anyone interested... here's an example of how they look...は (ha)... add ten ten it becomes ば (ba) or add a maru and it becomes ぱ (pa)

    No problem :)

He says "ato ten to maru desu" which is basically "after that/also ten ten (") and maru(°)"
