It was for the priest. He gave him another chance and made ML travel back to the past to help find the real saintess because the priest sereve a a fake saintess.
The priest knew he serve a fake when a second oracle came but just given her a second chance.
The real saintess is still unknown but I think it is Irene. She came back to life like a miracle from God.
