You are so on point with this one. At the beginning I loved it because we had a badass queen fl who is who she is without even having to reincarnate. But after 80 chapters all her achievements are JUST her being a badass. Her brother is still doing his shit. Her sister is still free to roam around. Like I was glad when she was arrested but that too was just temporary. And the royal family is literally living off of her.
I mentioned previously that she can literally condemn the whole royal family because of her position as the star princess “because the stars told her so”. I have never seen a more powerless royal family. Yet we have been reading more side politics than actual plot in 80 chapters. So tired of this.
Yea, whoever wrote this wanted to drag out the royal drama and fl's limelight as an imperial princess. Theoretically FL already has all the puzzle blocks in hand, to get away from her dysfunctional family and live her own life. As you said she could use or pretend to utilize her powers to work against them, she could've just said no to postponing the marriage, she could've done a lot of things but the author simply refuses to leave this comfort zone.
It's stressful for us to read through, but it's very easy for the writer bc they can just think up different scenarios while avoiding deeper character development. I can't think of a single character that had a major moment in here besides the princess that started facing her abusive family. If you think about it that's the only interesting thing about this manhwa so far. It's the only thing I can remember and it's not even been a week since I read this.
That’s what I am saying. That’s literally the only accomplishment in this manhwa with 80+ chapters. It’s getting really tiresome and honestly downright frustrating to read this. Like what was the whole point of the last couple of chapters just because she wanted to find an actress for her play. THATS what we wasted the last few chapters on. The fake drama to create theatrical drama.
I like that the ML and FL have their roles in society kinda reversed. In the most cliche rofans the ML is normally the prince and FL a peasant that's to be protected somehow. ML is also honestly taking the L for having the monster title, which is typically kinda mystified and utilized to their advantage. Here it's just a way to look down on a commoner with too much power.
But anyway, I don't like the monster duke nor the blond fake-ass 100%. Blondie is constantly sheming and doing things FL clearly doesn't vibe with, he doesn't care as long as everything plays out HIS way. ML is much better but he's also talking about protecting her, which she lowkey explained she wants the power to protect herself without help, and honestly he seems to feeble and wonky sometimes. If you really want to be with her just take her hand. His character is so simple, at least make him a bit more passionate in any way. Why can't SHE protect YOU? Get your reputation up and so on, so people accept you and the arrangement you made with the Emperor years ago ffs.
Him being so timid also just screams to me that one day him and FL will split after whatever kind of big misunderstanding and/or lack of communication.
