ML is the brown-haired kid we saw in this chapter speaking through the mirror. There were some spoilers below going into more detail about the overall story/plot points.
He's the son of the Duke who had abused MC in her last life, but had died before Triche was taken in. They weren't clear as to why (except that the shitty Duke was involved in his death), but said that he has the same illness his mother died from and drinks the same medicine as she did. Screams like a classic poison case to me but who knows, again the spoiler commentor wasn't too clear on this ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Oh right! I didn't mention it, but basically the Duke was jealous of the future his son would have, i'mma copy paste a part here:
"Even though he was calling his son, it seemed like he was calling someone else. This was partly because he had no love for his children, but also because he was a bad father who was jealous of Ian. A child with a long life ahead of him. A child who will hold the power and family name of Gerwehr in his hands and live a life where everything is guaranteed. He said that as he grew thinner, his son's life would become more brilliant. Like a tree that grows by nourishing me. Like a thief who takes everything from me. But I won't leave it that way. I won't lose anything to this child." And so he killed his son, so he can just keep Triche to himself. What a crazy man.

This is sooo cute. This takes me back when I was obsesses with Gakuen Alice. Omgg who is the ML tho? I feel like it's robenhalf cause it's already implied. It will be weird if it's Deon cause she's already adopted.
