I thought it showed 2.5 billion. And then I thought it was taxes but she also said even after taxes. 1.7 bill is a lot of money so what??? Where did the 800 million go???

    That was the taxes! For US rules (as an example), if you choose to take a lump sum for huge lottery winnings like what the MC won, the taxes are IMMENSE versus taking a much smaller amount every month (like $10k).

    But she said in that one page that EVEN AFTER TAXES 1.7 bill is a lot of money. So it got me confused cus that would mean the 1.7 b has no taxes deducted to it yet

    No, that’s just confusion on your part. That is the correct sentence phrasing. To explain further, she’s saying 2.5 billion is a lot of money, and even after taxes it’s STILL a lot of money at 1.7 billion.

    Same here in India they deduct 30% as tax

    Sadly there's no monthly scheme here I think, you get it in a lumpsum and tax is deducted right away
