I've read a handful of them, both manga and webtoon. But it's usually beta turned omega or sometimes an hyper recessive omega that was assumed to be beta types of until they suddenly have their first heat trope. Alpha x alpha dynamics is already pretty rare so it'd be a bummer if they incorporate dynamics switching (Idk what's the right term for it )

oh yeah thats true, i do encounter the beta turned omega. they're so common i forgot you might've meant that as well thankfully i dont see alphas turned omega tho, unless we consider Smyrna & Capri as one with the whole family heritage where an alpha becomes a smyrna aka fertile and lays an egg. But they both look VERY alpha the whole way through/i forget its omegaverse usually so personally i wouldnt include it

Yeah, it's often the betas that become victims of this trope. Idk for me, it often feels like a lazy route to go about the story because authors are more invested in the smut instead of exploring the dynamics between a beta and alpha couple.

Yeah, that's my issue. Like I know it's abo but is it really that necessary for a beta to turn into an omega just to have kids? Can't they just adopt or have a surrogate or something? Idk man the whole dynamics switching to omega is just weird.

Or in general I just find it weid why they can't be happy without children... it always seems so forced and they don't really focus in developing their relationship right. I want them to focus on themselves but instead they throw in a child who seems to bind them together by force ... so annoying

Honestly, this too! As a child-free person by choice, I get your frustration so much. It's tiring to come across that narrative so often irl and even in fiction. I just wish bl authors will be brave enough to explore less traditional and heteronormative tropes.
