This may sound cliche, but your face isn't the problem, at least in my environment, it's the attitude you have. Sure, it's difficult for someone to socialize at first when they aren't pretty, but those who make friends based on their appearance or popularity are often shallow. Even at school, we admire our classmates who are mature leaders even if they are not attractive, as opposed to those who are attractive but lack accountability. But, of course, it's an enormous advantage if you're both pretty and smart, but don't use reasons such as "you're ugly" to justify why you don't have a social life, there is something wrong with you and its not your appearance.
