If you read the WN, it will fill in all the gaps including his opess. It introduces all the main characters properly, and showcases how they met and how they sort of got together. It also showed how the annoying and nosy side characters interfered to force the relationship. The funny thing is the WN translation was dropped right before the current events of the manga.
