Yall forgot the whole animalistic thing when it comes to these ABO books? They become like legit animals when in heat/rut so it’s gonna be aggressive with no type of human reasoning. Because he loves him, ofc when he’s back to normal, he’s gonna be asking forgiveness. These books are fiction like pls stop with the realism bruh ☠☠

It's ridiculously annoying when they make irl the basis of everything. And once you try and explain the concept of it, some will even accuse you of justifying and supporting rape pretty sure it's kids nowadays reading BL.

Well, the problem I've always had with omega verse is that it *does* take "real world ethics" and validates it by giving it an elaborate biological framework. The idea that men/masculine are animalistic beings with sexual urges that cannot be controlled around women/femmes because of hormones, behaviour, their clothes etc is part and parcel of patriarchy, which is global. Parts of that are transposed in a BL omegaverse. (Gender queer readings of BL omegaverse are much more interesting but the "uncontrollable rut" element is forever my least favourite thing about it.)

When creators take this aspect of the omegaverse and follow it to its logical end in more extreme situations we're gonna get this confused response from some readers. Ash's behaviour was 100% within the acceptable bounds of the world's rules. But the reasoning and dynamics between the characters are also similar enough to real world abusive relationships. People are going to pick up on that and express their discomfort even tho 5 mins ago they thought it was hot. It's a tricky line to maintain for the creators and I thought Chada and Flona handled it very well. But I'm not surprised others have a more negative response.
