TBH I didn't like the brother at all. He was always "poor Akira, so selfless" while he took advantage of that trait. He acted concerned and used that concern to make Akira act the way he thought he should act (give up the shop, give up Motoya) but never really cared what Akira actually wanted. For example, the whole Enrico Romario thing. He knew that Akira would always put him first, nevertheless he asked him to stay for dinner with Romario because otherwise he wouldn't be able to get such a connection. He didn't care if Akira had other plans.
