its not, its the fact that larissa's note mentioned her name. they would have to investigate why she wanted MC dead/harmed, therrfore finding out about the prince and her relationship which would be bad for diplomacy and well reputation of prince since she is an illegitimate child.

i think the problem was not who or why he killed but the why SHE was taken at all...ppl in society would start to question her involvement with a man who is the middle of marriage talks, the prince nonetheless, all while she herself is an ilegitimate daughter of a man of the church and question her purity...her image would be slandered forever

that's why there are a lot who wants her to end up with cesare cause he doesn't seem weak like alfonso. alfonso is a prince by name thats it, the one pulling the strings is his mom. Ariande needs someone who is as determined as her to gain power for her goals and right now that isn't Alfonso, he is somewhat a burden right now than an ally.

They can't cause they need it to justify why alfonso killed the duke. they can also use it against larissa, its like a double edged sword.

Hard disagree that Alfonso isnt as determined as Ariadne or Cesare to gain power. He was complacent in his position before meeting her but their relationship has literally caused significant change in him to take his role as a prince seriously so he can gain the freedom to be with her. He just made this change and hasnt had time to start amassing power but that doesnt mean he isn’t determined. I think the fact that he’s started standing up to his mom and negotiating with her rather than just going along with everything she says proves that.
