Are you sure you mean uncle? Do you mean wren? His uncle is the one torturing vampires and his own nephew and using them for his own personal gain. Wren is the vampire who took Ethan in after he killed his parents (if I remember correctly, he killed them as an act of revenge since they killed his vampire friends) and raised him until the uncle got back in the way of everything.
