Yaoi!!! on Ice, anybody?

KuroKitsune January 25, 2017 3:45 am

so i heard that a lot of Yuri!!! on ice fans are flocking to this manhua now that the shows over. this puzzles me, as I'm a YOI fan myself, but see no concurrency between this comic and that anime.

please help me out, if you too are a YOI fan, please make yourself known, and I'd like to know why Yoi fans specifically like this manhua. is it just a coincidence?

i think its a coincidence i mean i am a YOI fan as well but really there is no similarities i guess cuz YOI is gay and killing stalking is gay all of us fujoshis united =w= so most of us who watch probably discuss it since this is convenient

Many yoi fans like yaoi and this is a well written and interesting yaoi manwha. Hence, many yoi fans like this. It doesn't have anything to do with being a yoi fan. It's like if a person liked cake. They like the strawberry cake and then they find a mango cake one day. They eat it and it's delicious so they eat it a lot. The person liking strawberry cake doesn't really have anything to do with the person liking mango cake. The person just really likes good cakes. I might've made this confusing though, sorry.

i am A HUGE YOI fan and this was recommended to me by a friend (who is also a fan of YOI)

and the story of Killing Stalking is super interesting and gut wrenching, however, I do not ship YoonBum and SangWoo. I really want to just see YoonBum make it out of there alive and away from SangWoo

alright, that makes sense, thank you! thats pretty much the conclusion i came to, but I couldn't figure out why it was YOI fans who specifically like this one Manhua. i didn't think it was that popular of a comic, so i was wondering if for example, in an interview, a YOI staff said something about it, or if they were linked in any way.

i just thought it was strange to see one huge fandom go to a different, much more niche thing. just seemed a little strange to me, but i guess its a coincidence.( ̄∇ ̄")

that is probably true. but for them to like this one comic in particular... i just thought it was strange, i dunno. i was wondering if there was some sort of link, because the two are nothing alike, ya know

I know, I don't see a very good future for them, as far as shipping goes... and its awful, because im thinking "I hope he can escape, oh man!" but a tiny voice in my head secretly wants YoonBum to play along a little more... i guess maybe because im afraid of him getting away and the story ending

I like all types of BL, but for every fluffy series, I need at least 3 hardcore series. YOI was the definition of fluff, so I needed to sink my teeth into a psychological hardcore BL to balance me out. Killing Stalking came out at a perfect time for someone who wanted something new but different.

In addition, there aren't too many psychological BL (there are like two pages) and I started to get emotionally desensitized to my current selection (Like, I read Hoshi no Yakata in middle school [in college now] so...).
