Regardless this isn’t a discussion about the logistics of whether Dan’s feelings of indebtedness towards his grandmother was the sole defining factor in his choice to work for JK nor is it about how responsible Dan’s grandmother is for JK’s actions, but rather the difference between how you perceive the grandmother’s death and how Dan will likely perceive the death of his grandmother.
Dan will care if his grandmother dies, that much is likely in agreement between the two of us. The difference between you and Dan is that Dan has depicted no feelings of resentment or apathy towards the looming threats surrounding his grandmother’s incapacitation as opposed to the first statement in your original post “I don’t care if the grandmother dies”. The lack of coherence between your perspective and his widens the already existent gap between the comprehension of Dan’s emotions and us, the readers. We already cannot speak to exactly how Dan feels, but what we can speak to is our personal understanding of what we have read and understood.
With that being said, it does require insane mental acrobatics to insinuate Dan will feel a semblance of relief in response to his grandmother’s death when you cannot even empathize with the man.
Again, we do not agree. I will just answer to one thing
"With that being said, it does require insane mental acrobatics to insinuate Dan will feel a semblance of relief in response to his grandmother’s death when you cannot even empathize with the man"
For me again, naive logic. I experienced loss and grief in a vivid way girl, and i can tell you from my experience. No matter how much you love someone, you can feel a semblance of relief from his death. If someone you love is just suffering non stop for exemple, or if it's freeing you from a big financial responsabililty. Profondly loving a person don't mean you can't feel relief from the reality that is happening for you.
Dan love his grandmother, like her, he would do anything for her. And even if he will be sad and heartbroken, it doesnt change his reality.
The reality that her death will free him financially.
If you can understand this, let's just agree to disagree!
Am i the only one who don't care if granny dies?
Like if she dies Kim Dan will not need the money of the jerk and can leave his job. And that's when the seme will maybe chase him at least a little.
It will be a realisation and a liberation for Kim Dan from the seme. If he no longer needs his money, he is free to go.
