granny being dead is a good catalyst for the story to move forward, the reason why dan is there in the first place is because of his grandma. Jk has him on hold because dan mainly needs money (thats why he kinda ask dan if the money that he gives is not enough, idr). Jk really thinks that dan is all about money, even when dan showed jk that he is more than a boss to him ( which jk refused to acknowledge and ridiculed dan).
Yes we all know that dan is there for money (for his grandma) in the first, it developed to something deeper but jk refused to acknowledge, dan stayed loyal but in return was being accused by the guy he liked.
Its just that if his granny dies, theres two outcomes to it; A. He leaves/ quit because theres no valid reason to stay B. Stay for a bit until the next abusive situation arise (if jk doesnt change or something)
Anyway, idc what happens lol im here for the journey of the story or something ( ̄へ ̄)
