I think the author wants to show that he isnt fully mature for this series to end. Senpai made him realize that all of them are not just characters and this is his second life. His gender is always based on his partner, the author wants him to have his own choices too.
I guess i needed that to be plotted better. It's great that we're pacing his choices, since it wouldve been too fast anyway, but the mindset feels more like always going back to square one after vamping it to a hundred just as quick as it reached that peak.
After that ride in the horizon thing, even during the saliva potion... those were clear progress of enlightenment but the author wanted to force another character to pick up on the "oh wait, actually you can still change classifications and REMEMBER, it's shitty to be an omega" like a whipsplash. Like does it even matter if jasper shows his redeeming qualities or that the MC seems to find him attractive? The MC takes a step forward and ten steps back. And I think my gripe is simply the sequence of events or how the MC thinks coz it keeps going back to square one when it comes to "fck, i dont want to be an omega", totally dismissing a lot of the progress.
