This is basically the backstory of when they first met. btw I go into kinda specific detail.
Mc (little ryeong) ran away from his father because he got mad that his father wasn’t trying to defy his fate (death). The weather is very cold and he meets adult Paljae while trying to get away from a tiger which injured MC’s leg. Paljae had opened up the gate to the human realm (bc was trying to conquer everything) and has a very severe injury to his abdomen, and luminaries (they serve the four beasts) are hunting him down because the gods don’t want the order of the realms to be disrupted. Paljae finds out his body can be healed from MC’s energy while MC is able to breathe easier with Paljae’s energy. Paljae takes MC to live under a lake and heals MC’s leg. Paljae demands that MC stay with him or else he will devour him to heal his body. They live there for about 5 months and the MC tries to teach Paljae about human emotions (and also how humans act/live) because Paljae was born not knowing them. MC thinks they are friends but Paljae was willing to replace him if he found another like the MC even though Paljae feels love towards MC (like friendship love ig). Luminary Munso finds them but they manage to flee in time. Paljae summons a turtle and makes MC go inside it so that he will be brought back home or something, while Paljae goes to fight the luminaries. Btw Paljae was cursed by the vermillion peacock which prevents him from regenerating his body (husk) properly and he could only use like 1/10 of his power. Luminary Songyang (paljae’s sword instructor) used his powers to hide Paljae from the other luminaries for about 6 months, but betrays him in the end. Right when Luminary Munso was about to bind Paljae’s soul to prevent him for recovering his powers, MC steps in front of him and takes the curse instead. Mc’s turtle was killed by some masked people so he decided to return to Paljae because he wouldn’t be able to find his way back on his own. Paljae and MC flee somewhere and MC’s body has shattered (died) due to the excessive Yang energy from the curse causing his soul to break its vessel (body). Paljae transfers the curse to himself and forces MC’s soul to remain in his body by freezing what remains. Paljae kinda just throws MC back at his father and whooshes away. That’s how the backstory ends Also while they were under the lake, Paljae’s yin energy allows MC to not burn from the sun temporarily.

Anyone give me a summary of what’s happened ToT, I totally forgot. I only remember that little ryeon ran into adult paljae in the past but they both don’t remember what happened at the end of season 2
