I feel like this was a huge missed opportunity to show a parallel of Oya’s father grieving over Iori and Yuri grieving over her family. For someone who was dearly loved and felt so much guilt for causing pain to her family (before she got disowned), I seriously doubt that she’s not deeply troubled for being disowned and will never see her friends again. This also could have foreshadowed for Yuri to see that being in the yakuza means you have to seriously think twice of having children with Oya. If his father could be severely grieving over Iori, then imagine how Yuri will feel knowing her child will never be fully safe and is the only biologically relative in her life. Oya couldn’t always protect Yuri and Oya was always in sever danger. Imagine now with the kid in the picture. This really was a huge missed opportunity……..oh well 9/10 for the art.
