well said. I just finished reading this and you pretty much summed it up. i’m not very pleased with their dynamic at times but that chapter in the cafe with yohan and mukyung really epitomised it well. the author took lengths to make sure the reader knew that yuri does show very toxic traits but seonwoo’s love allows him to work with it and he sees their relationship as a work in progress.
This is one that I continue to dwell on even after finishing it. They really are very well suited to each other, even though at first it just kind of seems like their relationship would be exhausting. And, like, yeah. It would be exhausting. But that’s exactly what eachother needs. Seonwoo needed someone that incessantly cares for him despite his protestations and insistence that he’s fine/doesn’t need anything. Yuri needs someone who needs him and gives him the kind of endeared-but-exasperated love he was constantly searching for as a child. The result is very volatile and codependent, and I have this feeling they would absolutely implode if they were in relationships with literally anyone else, but it just works for them.
