I can see how it's not for everyone.
Personally I like it because Rokan is selfish and his personality is not common. I love MC's who do work for the greater good, save humanity, work in teams etc but there are so many of those that this feels refreshing in the sense Rokan is only about Rokan. It almost feels like a slice of life with how he goes around whooping ass and doing little missions for his ult. goal. There aren't many, if at all, characters I have to worry about or their backstories etc so this is extremely straightforward as well. It's a nice break when you just want action, no thought and get a chuckle out of his dumbassery. I'm sure that will change once his rival and team get together and we have more plot, in a sense this is all just build up.
I wrote you an essay, my bad. But yeah tldr; funny solo man go around whooping ass
I've tried reading this twice now. The first time I got to the mid 40s, and the second time I picked up there and made it another ten chapters. This is one of the few stories that I genuinely cannot finish. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about this that makes it hard for me to enjoy. It might be how unnecessarily arrogant the mc is or the fact that his character is super one-dimensional/underdeveloped, but I just couldn't make it through this one. If y'all can convince me I might pick it back up but I have pretty low hopes on that.
