See, I don’t see that. I thought he might find her amusing when they first met but his thoughts didn’t go anywhere beyond “she’s cuter than I thought, I hope I can see her again.” Every action he’s made since correlated with that thought process. And you can see he started catching feelings because he’s noticing things other people don’t. Like how she injured her leg when she fell in the pond and he stayed back to help her out without bringing the attention to her. Or how he went hunting and brought her along just so she can rest because she never gets to.
The spoiler indicates that the reason why he’s approaching her now is just to have a good time and not take her seriously and basically have her as his ultimate plaything. My point is that if we didn’t get to see what he’s thinking in his head, I’d be inclined to just drop it based on spoilers, but we do see it and it doesn’t match the spoilers’ narrative. I’ve read stories where readers interpret the characters’ behavior differently, so I’ll just read it and come up to my own conclusion. It’s all I’m saying.
ML never helps FL when she is being abused and only thinks she is amusing to watch/look at, when she caught his attention later on it became a “you’re an interesting toy who I’ll throw away later when I get bored of you” situation
well FL ends up getting pregnant with ML’s child, but FL finds out ML is getting engaged to some other woman and so she finally summons the courage to run away, ML goes crazy after her she runs yadayada, I mean I’m all for angst but I don’t think the angst/regret here is worth it/dragged on enough to make me stick around despite the things he did to her
Also FL is actually related to the queen or something but the queen treats her real good
Also even when they reunite he doesn’t take her srsly when she doesn’t want to be w him, forcibly kisses her, finds her anger “cute”, etc
