Hello, I live in Japan and speak a fair bit of Japanese. Two points: one, the mangaka's name is gender neutral, and two, the mangaka is a girl I follow her bluesky account where she posts work and life updates, mostly about her pets, makeup, nails, and bread lol
Her pen name: Yoshii Haruaki
I can see where the confusion comes from since Yoshii 吉井 can be masculine but this is her surname so it has no bearing on her gender at all while Haruaki ハルアキ is the gender neutral given name
regardless, I don't think gender should dictate how well a mangaka can be at their job
