It’s more like his pov is explained in novel. MC is very far from his type and liking in terms of personality despite him being sexually attracted to him and found him beautiful and attractive. He likes someone who’s soft, delicate, submissive and obedient like MC’s half brother better and Suiying is already too domineering.He also believes loving someone comes with the sense of wanting to protect that person and cherish them which he clearly doesn’t feel it with MC as Suiying not only doesn’t need his protection, but also is capable of harming other people with ease. He only realized he loved MC only after they broke up badly.

I hate that they remove the whole thought process and pov of Li Yu in this manhua especially this episode. There’s a reason in why he acts the way he was and why he can’t commit his love for MC. As well as, novel has a better explanation like how MC eventually came from like to love ML, and his thought process etc. But I guess China has strict laws regarding portraying BLs so might just be censorship issues (so plot got sacrificed)
