Just an opinion but i dont think the priest is as evil as he looks. Hear me out
He is evil, yes. But what he does is very reasonable. He wanted to build a holy empire because of the corruption of the nobility.
At first he thought Carlisle was a good guy(which he is) but then his first impression of him got taken away when he met him(a misunderstanding) hence why he didn't support him.
He knows what he does is wrong but "sometimes you have to fight evil with evil" "Sometimes you have to play dirty for the greater good" Is his mindset which honestly is pretty valid.
He wants to reform the empire as a whole so that it can follow the God's way, sacrificing himself
I feel like is he was shown that what he did won't solve the problem and that Carlisle is not how he thinks he is, he might just be able to redeem himself but alas.
Anyway, he's my fav character after Asha. He's quite a complicated character and my favorite type "a dark/twisted priest" With a bonus of long hair and blue eyes lol
eh, sadly by the way it's looking, even if he does find out Carlisle would be a good king, his mind would be too warped by the black magic he uses to change his ways.

Yeah that's how it is now.. I'm talking about how it would have been so much different if he didn't misunderstood Carlisle at first ಥ_ಥ
