I was holding back my tears all throughout

I know it's been hinted since chapter one that the work he does usually happens at night and is dangerous to the point of getting regularly injured, I wasn't even surprised he's part of the mafia, what caught me off guard is how heavy this manga is lol. I thought it was gonna be a cute slice of life and then I'm hit with the regrets of adulthood, dreams remaining as dreams, unrequited love and the wounds your own family could give. I can feel the impending angst regarding their family issues coming up.

I think both mcs lost faith in the idea of a family because of what happened to them. The kind of people who knows what it's like to be part of a broken home so they're not taking their chances in creating a broken one. They don't want anyone else, moreso their own blood, to experience the things they had to experience. And I guess that's also the reason why they're the ones the mother chose as father figures, even though I just know for sure she slept with other men not just them. She knows that regardless of their feelings in the matter, they'll do a good job of raising her daughter. Ugh I really wish the stakes isn't as high, whatchu mean the mafias involved and there's guns being fired!? My poor fckin heart can't take the stress
